A Patch of Land: Denis Bogoević Marušić
Meet Denis Bogoević Marušić, a city-born Split native who followed his father to Pelješac and transformed their family estate into a biodynamic vineyard. Fifteen years later, their wines reach international markets and Michelin-starred restaurants, showcasing Croatia’s agricultural potential and a passion for natural winemaking.

Despite numerous challenges, there are visionaries in Croatia who recognize the country’s agricultural potential and invest their energy, effort, and resources into it. In the fourth and final episode of the documentary series A Patch of Land, which introduces such visionaries by exploring different branches of agriculture, we present Denis Bogoević Marušić on Sunday, June 19, at 8:10 PM on Prvi.
Until the age of 30, Denis Bogoević Marušić was a true city child from Split. He trained as a seafarer, worked as a chef, and at the Split City Museum. His father decided to retire to his native Prizdrina on Pelješac. Denis sensed that this move held creative potential, not just a place to retire.
He followed his father to the family estate, where together they started from scratch, planting Plavac and Grk grapes and maintaining the vineyards biodynamically. Fifteen years later, their winery produces wines that find their place on the international market and in Michelin-starred restaurants.
