Prizdrina Will Never Be a Backwater

Denis Bogoević Marušić returned from Split to the small village of Prizdrina on Pelješac in 2004 and began building his wine story from scratch. Together with his father, he planted new vineyards on Križ hill and founded Križ Winery, focusing on organic cultivation, manual vineyard work, and minimal cellar intervention.

He revived the indigenous Grk grape on Pelješac and continues to champion Plavac Mali, firmly believing that authentic, local varieties tell the true story of place. Today, his wines are exported to the United States and featured in Michelin-starred restaurants, recognized for their character and natural expression.
